Preparing for your college audition
I will lead a conversation to demystify the college audition process for a limited number of high school students who are applying to schools in the U.S. for drama. I will discuss the mechanics of auditioning—from what to wear to how to prepare and perform a monologue—and invite parents to join for Q&A at the end.
If interested, please contact me by October 1 at firstname.lastname@example.org.

COLLEGE MUSICAL THEATER AUDITION WORKSHOP
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
Are you planning to apply to college musical theater programs in the upcoming admissions season? I will be co-hosting a college audition workshop in the San Francisco area on SUN 30 OCT 2016 with Dr. Elizabeth Stone of Campanile College Consulting. Please join us and other professional colleagues as we walk you through the three parts of the college musical theater audition: dance, singing and acting evaluations.
Greetings! I'm Chris.
I am the Director of Admissions for the Drama department at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and I'm also an independent educational consultant who advises students who want to pursue an education in theater. I work primarily with high school students who have their eyes on summer high school or college drama programs.
Students and families come to me for my expertise gained from 23 years in higher education administration, working exclusively with drama students. I have been in my current position for over ten years. I am a member of both the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA). I have a B.A. in Theater and Dance and an M.A. in English, both from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
After years of performing throughout New York City, I became the Administrative Director of the Trinity College/La MaMa Performing Arts Program. I taught on the faculty of Trinity's Theater & Dance department and for the Hartford chapter of the I Have a Dream Program. After 11 years running Trinity/La MaMa, I became the Director of Recruitment for the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, CT. Immediately following the O'Neill, I began my career at NYU Tisch School of the Arts as the Director of Admissions for the largest undergraduate Drama department in the world.
In addition to overseeing the entire artistic review process for over 2,000 applicants annually, I have served as an academic advisor for hundreds of students in the Drama department at NYU Tisch and—in the spirit of care from entrance to exit—currently provide support to the school's most recent graduates and newest alumni. I am proud to be the one they meet when they begin their college careers with their artistic reviews and the one they stay in touch with as they begin their professional careers in the world of art.
Along with theater and education, I am passionate about music, art, architecture, New York City history, nature, and exploring this amazing planet.
